Privacy Policy
Effective April 24, 2026
Clario Labs (“SeeClario,” “we,” “us”) operates SeeClario, a personalized financial dashboard service for individuals. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Summary in plain English: We collect the financial information you explicitly give us (uploaded statements, bank data you link via Plaid, information you type into forms) so we can build your dashboard. We store it securely with Supabase. We don’t sell it. We don’t share it with advertisers. You can ask for your data or ask us to delete it at any time by emailing [email protected].
1. Who we are
Clario Labs is a Texas-based sole proprietorship owned by Steven Ringgold. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Account information: your name, email address, company name, and password (hashed and managed by Supabase Auth — we never see your plaintext password).
- Financial statements you upload: PDF, CSV, and XLSX files containing bank, credit card, and investment account information.
- Manual data entry: income, account balances, and spending estimates you type into our forms.
- Goals and preferences: answers you provide in our onboarding questionnaire.
- Messages you send to our AI Assistant and support inquiries.
- Payment details: handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment but never see your card number.
Information collected when you connect a bank account via Plaid
If you choose to use our Fast Connect feature, Plaid Inc. acts as a service provider to securely retrieve your financial data from your bank. We receive from Plaid:
- A list of your accounts at that institution: name, type, subtype, last 4 digits of the account number, and balances.
- Transaction history: date, description, amount, merchant name, and Plaid’s category labels.
We do not receive and never store your online banking username or password. Those stay with Plaid and your bank. For details on Plaid’s own data practices, see Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy at https://plaid.com/legal/#end-user-privacy-policy.
You can disconnect any linked bank at any time from your SeeClario portal, which revokes our access immediately.
Information collected automatically
Standard server and usage logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) generated by our hosting provider Vercel. Used only for troubleshooting and security. Not used to build advertising profiles.
3. How we use your information
- To build and refresh your financial dashboard.
- To communicate with you about your account, refresh requests, and product updates.
- To answer your questions when you use the AI Assistant (which sends a copy of your financial summary to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate a response — see section 5).
- To detect and prevent abuse.
- To comply with tax and legal obligations.
We do not use your information for advertising, resale, or training machine learning models at third parties.
4. Who can see your information
Inside SeeClario:
- You. You see your own data through the portal.
- Steven Ringgold, the operator. Clario Labs is currently a solo operation; Steven reviews uploaded statements to build your dashboard.
Service providers we use to run SeeClario (“subprocessors”), each only seeing what they need to do their job:
- Supabase — stores your account, uploaded files, dashboards, and database records. Data is encrypted at rest.
- Vercel — hosts the web application.
- Stripe — processes payments for Setup, Refresh Packs, and Clario Access. Stripe sees payment details; SeeClario does not.
- Plaid (if you use Fast Connect) — retrieves your bank data.
- Anthropic — processes AI Assistant queries. Messages and your financial summary are sent to Claude to generate responses; Anthropic does not retain this data beyond the request per their API terms.
- Resend — sends transactional email (welcome, receipts, refresh notifications).
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing partners.
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order. If that happens and we are legally permitted to tell you, we will.
5. Your AI Assistant messages
When you use the AI Assistant, your question and a snapshot of your financial data are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API. Anthropic processes these requests statelessly and does not retain data after the response is returned. We keep a log of your usage counts (not message content) to enforce daily rate limits. Conversation history is not persisted in SeeClario’s database.
6. Data retention
- Active accounts: we retain your data while your account is active.
- Inactive or cancelled accounts: retained for 90 days in case you want to reactivate, then permanently deleted.
- Deletion on request: email [email protected] and we will delete your data within 30 days. Backups may take up to 90 days to fully purge.
- Linked banks: disconnecting a bank in the portal immediately revokes our access via Plaid and deletes the stored access token. Historical transaction data already synced stays in your dashboard unless you also request account deletion.
7. Your rights
You can at any time:
- Request a copy of your data.
- Correct or update information in your profile or portal.
- Disconnect a linked bank account.
- Cancel your subscription via the Stripe Billing Portal.
- Request complete account deletion.
California residents (CCPA) and EU/UK residents (GDPR) have additional rights including the right to object, restrict processing, and data portability. Email [email protected] to exercise any right — we honor the same process regardless of jurisdiction.
8. Security
We take security seriously:
- All data in transit uses HTTPS/TLS.
- Data at rest is encrypted by Supabase.
- Plaid access tokens are encrypted at the application layer.
- Database access is controlled by Supabase row-level security policies.
- Administrative access is limited to Steven Ringgold and protected by password + (where supported) 2FA.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever experience a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you promptly and cooperate with any required regulatory filings.
9. Children’s privacy
SeeClario is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify active users by email at least 14 days before they take effect and update the effective date above. Older versions are kept for reference on request.
